CDU’s offers a degree completion program for a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology. It is designed for students who have not yet earned
a bachelor’s degree, but who have earned a minimum of 88 undergraduate
credits. Once accepted
into CDU’s program, they earn 38 additional credits
in theology enabling them to graduate with an accredited B.A. degree in theology.
This theology degree will help students expand
their knowledge of the Catholic faith and develop the skills needed
to demonstrate competency in explaining the essential teachings
of the Catholic Church using Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition,
and Magisterial documents, with emphasis on the Catechism of the
Catholic Church and the Documents of Vatican II.
Don’t have all the 88 undergraduate
credits yet?
CDU allows students to work on their general
education credits and theology credits at the same time. Students with 60 general education credits are accepted into the CDU program as provisional students with full acceptance granted when all 88 general requirement credits are earned. General education
credits
can be earned at any accredited institution or at the College
of the Humanities and Sciences Harrison Middleton University
(CHUMSCI). CDU partners with CHUMSCI to provide students with an online option for earning the general college requirements.

- Go 'back to school' with other adult learners who are also busy raising families and
working careers.
- All courses use a distance learning format that allows students to study at a time and place that best fits
suits busy schedules and lifestyles.
- The CDU program has no residency requirements,
so unlike many other distance learning programs, there is never the need
to drive to a college campus or meeting place.
- CDU courses provide
faithful and systematic teachings of Sacred Scripture, the living
tradition of the Church, and the authentic Magisterium, as well
as the spiritual heritage of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church.
- Many adults are nervous about taking an online course. CDU
offers a full-time technical help desk that is available daily
to answer questions and solve computer issues.
- At CDU, distance learning is all about creating and building a faith filled learning community. The online student union provides a place for prayer and spiritual support, lively discussions
and general conversation, and program-specific question and
answer desks.
- CDU’s one-of-a-kind program Academic Skills online course helps adult learners ease back into the
rigors of college work with a seminar that teaches online academic writing, time and
task management, and study skills.
