Peter Vere, JCL
Peter Vere has a BA with a concentration in Religious Studies from Laurentian University (Sudbury, Canada) and a Licentiate and Master’s Degree in Canon Law from Saint Paul University (Ottawa, Canada). He has worked as a canon lawyer with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, the Diocese of Scranton, and the Diocese of Venice in Florida. He now lives in Sault Ste Marie, Canada, with his wife and two daughters, where he writes full-time.
Professor Vere has addressed the basic teachings of the Catholic Faith from the perspective of Canon Law in several books he has co-authored, including Surprised by Canon Law, volumes 1 and 2 (Servant Books), More Catholic Than the Pope: An Inside Look at Extreme Traditionalism (Our Sunday Visitor), and Pied Piper of Atheism: Philip Pullman and Children's Fantasy (Ignatius Press). Furthermore, he is also well versed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and applies this to many articles that have appeared in Homiletic & Pastoral Review, Washington Times, The Catholic Answer, Challenge magazine, Catholic Insight, The Wanderer, This Rock magazine, Envoy, Lay Witness, The Bread of Life magazine, Catholic Exchange, and CLSA Advisory Opinions.
