Catholic School Teachers of Religion Pre-K through 8th Grade
Those individuals who are seeking renewal must fulfill 20 clock hours a year of professional and ministerial development for five years for a total of 100 hours. CDU non-credit courses and seminars may be taken to fulfill renewal hours.
1 CEU = 10 clock hours
Participants may also fulfill renewal hours by completing any of the basic, advanced, or specialization certificates offered through CDU
Level III Parish Catechist Certification
CDU non-credit courses may be used for Level III Parish Catechist Formation
When an individual successfully completes a course or seminar, the student will be invited to download a certificate, confirming completion of the course and the corresponding CEU’s/clock hours awarded.
- Provide one copy to the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis
- Parish Catechists and Parish Catechetical Leaders provide one copy to their parish: ie. pastor or pastor’s designee. Catholic School teachers provide one copy their principal.
Once all course requirements for renewal are successfully completed, the individual submits the certificates of completion, along with the application for renewal (click here to access and download an application) to the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis. The individual must assure that the application is complete. Incomplete applications will be returned to the individual.
Adult Formation
All adults in the Diocese of Corpus Christi may take CDU Independent Study Courses and Seminars and Specialization Certificates through CDU.
