About Deacon Omar F.A. Gutierrez, MA
Deacon Gutiérrez, educator and author, holds a Master’s Degree in Theology from the University of Dallas. An educator for 14 years serving at the elementary, high school and parish levels, he currently serves in the Archdiocese of Omaha as an instructor to Catholic school teachers and part of the faculty for the permanent diaconate program as well as an advisor to the Nebraska Catholic Conference on public policy.
Deacon Gutiérrez is the author of one book, The Urging of Christ’s Love: The Saints and The Social Teaching of the Catholic Church from Discerning Hearts Press. He also writes for a variety of Catholic publications on Catholic Social Teaching, including a regular column, “Charity in Truth,” for The Catholic Voice, the paper for the Archdiocese of Omaha
Deacon Gutiérrez has presented to national audiences, has appeared on EWTN and has served as an expert panelist for the USCCB on Catholic Social Teaching. He has a syndicated podcast program titled Regnum Novum: The New Evangelization Through Catholic Social Teaching which runs weekly on Nebraska’s Spirit Catholic Radio and has been nationally recognized as an authentic presentation of the Church’s teaching.
