About Deacon Rick Bauer, MA

Deacon Rick Bauer, educator, author, technologist, and Permanent Deacon holds a ThM in Hebrew Bible from Harvard Divinity School, and an MA in Biblical Theology from The Augustine Institute. He also holds a master’s degree in Science in the Management of Technology from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts in English from the University of Florida. Deacon Rick is a member of the Permanent Diaconate Formation Program teaching faculty for the Diocese of Colorado Springs, CO. He served as a technology executive after leaving the Protestant ministry (as a minister in Church of Christ) and returning to the Catholic Faith. He currently serves as a Permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Colorado Springs. Deacon Rick is the author of several books, including The Anatomy of Calvary, Toxic Christianity, and Mission Critical Infrastructure Security (a corporate technology book). He is the Review Editor for The Colorado Catholic Herald. Deacon Rick was a guest on EWTN’s The Journey Home, telling his story of his return to the Catholic faith while studying at Harvard Divinity School (the episode is available on YouTube). Rick served as Executive Director for several technology organizations, and was one of the Chief Technology Officers for the United States Presidential Inaugural Committee & Presidential Transition Team for President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney in 2000 and 2001.
