About Mónica Fuster Cancio, STD
Dr. Mónica Fuster Cancio, Adjunct professor, History of the Church at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, Rome Dr. Mónica Fuster Cancio, graduate in History from the University of Murcia (Spain), and doctor in Theology specializing in History of the Church from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Rome). I have worked for six years in the management team of Catholic youth associations, and for four years, I have provided professional services at the headquarters of an Institution of the Catholic Church in Rome. In 2012, I joined academic life again. The research topic of my thesis was on relations between the Church and the State in Spain during the Dictatorship of Primo de Rivera (1923-1930). After the thesis, I have published various articles on the same topic and on different arguments related to the history of Europe in the 20th century. Three years ago I began a new area of research on British colonialism and Catholic missions in Africa during the pontificate of Pius XI, based on documentation in archives in Rome (Archivio Apostolico Vaticano, Archivio di Propaganda Fide), London (The National Archives, Westminster Diocesan Archives) and Oxford (Weston Library). In this academic year, I have started at the University of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) a PhD in civil history that I intend to complete in three years with a thesis on British colonialism and Catholic missions in Africa.
