About Very Reverend Jamie Workman

Very Reverend Jamie R. Workman was born and raised in Center County, Pennsylvania. He is a convert to the faith and was received into the Catholic Church in 1997 at Saint Robert Bellarmine Chapel at George Mason University. He graduated from George Mason University in June 2000 with a B.S. in Business Management.

Father Workman attended Mount St. Mary Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He was ordained to the Priesthood for the Diocese of Arlington in 2006 by Most Reverend Paul S. Loverde at the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More in Arlington.

Father Workman served as Parochial Vicar at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Alexandria from 2006 to 2009 and at the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More in Arlington from 2009 to 2010.

In 2010, Father Workman was assigned to begin Canon Law Studies at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, and earned a Licentiate of Canon Law in 2013.

Father Workman served as Bishop’s Delegate for Canonical Affairs in the Diocesan Tribunal from 2013 through 2018 and then was appointed Diocesan Chancellor and held that position for two years. In 2020, Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge appointed Father Workman as Vicar General.

Father Workman is a founding Board member of Commission by Christ and has also served as Chairman.
